Aamir, Salman enough to handle wrestling; I stick to romance: Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan has no intentions of exploring the wrestling genre like his Bollywood co-stars Salman Khan and Aamir Khan. Salman’s wrestling-based Sultan is currently in theatres, while Aamir is coming up with Dangal, which is releasing later this year.

The Badshah insisted that he doesn’t look like a wrestler anyways, so let his counterparts handle that genre. SRK, who has previously worked in a sports-drama Chak De India, said he will stick to romance and has no plans of changing the genre.

“Let Aamir and Salman handle wrestling. Two of them are enough to handle wrestling,” Shah Rukh said in a media interaction. “Above all I don’t look like a wrestler from any angle. I am a romantic hero and I don’t know wrestling.”

Shah Rukh’s next release is Raees, which was pushed to next year for averting clash with Salman’s Sultan. Raees was slated to hit the theaters, alongwith Sultan, this Eid.

SRK said, alongwith his injury, limited screens was also the reason behind postponement of Raees. Now, the movie will hit big screens on January 26 next year.

“When two films release at the same time, we don’t get the big theatrical release we want,” SRK pointed out. “Budget of the film suffers if the movie is not releasing on 4,000 screens.”

“One needs to have 8,000 to 10,000 theatres for two movies to release at the same time,” he added. “I don’t think two big films can release at the same time.”
