Another milestone for Salman Khan; Sultan enters 100 crore club

Sultan is turning out to be a record-breaking venture for Salman Khan, as within three days of its release, the movie has entered into the 100 crore club. This is now the 10th time in a row that a Salman-starrer has entered into the coveted club, which is phenomenal to say the least.

The movie, released on July 6, starring Salman, Anushka Sharma and Randeep Hooda, gathered Rs 73.7 crore within two days, while on Friday, theaters have reported a turnout of about 80 per cent, taking the movie in the 100 crore club in just three days.

According to market analysts, Sultan’s box office collection is only going to improve in the weekend, and the movie is likely to cross a mark of Rs 150 crore easily in next two days. Randeep Hooda tweeted: Loving the response! Congratulations team #Sultan.

The movie is now competing with Shah Rukh Khan’s Happy New Year, which got a record 108.8 crore on first three days. Sultan is riding high on positive reviews that it has got, while both single screens and multiplexes are also giving the wrestling-drama a great response.

Along with Salman, the movie has turned out to be a major success for Yash Raj Films, who were in deficit after movies like Fan, Detective Byomkesh Bakshy and Daawat-e-Ishq. Meanwhile, this is the third time Anuskha Sharma has given a 100 crore movie.
