Gangs of Wasseypur 1.5: Threequel lands in controversey before going on floor

As fans are eagerly waiting for the third instalment of Gangs of Wasseypur, the threequel of the movie has landed in a controversy even before it has floor to the floor. Gangs of Wasseypur 1.5 is slated to be completed by October and the producers want it to hit the theaters by the end of the year.

The locals of Wasseypur, however are not happy with the franchise and are set to stage protests against the Anurag Kashyap movie. According to people, the franchise is depicting Wasseypur in poor light and creating wrong perceptions that the place is a breeding ground of criminals.

The protesters don’t want Kashyap to use their town’s name in the movie and are also not happy with Zeishan Quadri, the director and co-scriptwriter, who incidentally hails from Wasseypur. They even go on to say that since the release of the first movie, the crime rate has risen sharply.

Gangs of Wasseypur 1.5 well on schedule

Meanwhile, the franchise seems to be unaffected by the recent developments and is aiming to commence the project on time. Quadri, who was in Wasseypur recently for research work has insisted that the movie’s work is well on schedule. “The first two installment of the Gangs of Wasseypur portrayed the events that occurred till 2002.” Quadri informed. “The threequel will tell what happened between 2003 and 2015,” he said.

“The script has already been completed, and now we have started shooting for the movie. It is expected to be completed by October and the movie will hit theatres by the end of this year.”
