After recreating popular ghazal “Koi fariyaad” for “Tum Bin 2”,  Anubhav Sinha and Bhushan Kumar have decided to team up together and pay a musical tribute to late Jagjit Singh on his fifth death anniversary on October 10 here. Titled Tum Bin Misses Jagjit Singh, the by invite only concert will feature some of the stalwarts from the music industry and will be aired live for fans to witness the ethereal magic coming to a full circle. The concert will be held at Rang Sharda, Bandra.

The second installment of 2001 film “Tum Bin” franchise is written and directed by Sinha and jointly produced by him with Bhushan Kumar of the T-Series music label.

Sinha of Benaras Media Works said that it is a humble small gesture from his side. “Yes we are hosting a tribute and it is my humble gesture of giving back to the music industry through a cult film that enjoys a legacy of timeless music,” Sinha said.

The trailer of the new film introduced a fresh version of “Koi fariyaad”, sung by late Jagjit Singh in the original movie. Along with powerful vocals by Rekha Bhardwaj, Sinha has kept some lines crooned by Jagjit Singh. Singers like Arijit Singh, Rekha Bhardwaj, Ankit Tewari, Mika, Talat Aziz amongst others are expected to be a part of the concert to pay homage to the musical maestro. It is also said that Vishal and Rekha Bhardwaj will be performing a duet together for the first time. Kumar also said that “this is the first time I have witnessed audiences waking upto the music in such a magical way”. “‘Koi fariyaad’ has challenged the perception of what the music consumption of the youth really is especially if a ghazal can garner close to 10 million hits,” he said.
