Skipper Virat Kohli hits an unbeaten 103 and his deputy Ajinkya Rahane (79*) helped India reach 267/3 at stumps on the opening day of the third and final Test against New Zealand at Indore.
Kohli, who got to his 13th Test century from 184 deliveries, added 167 runs for the fourth wicket with Rahane.

Rahane also became the 36th Indian batsman to cross the milestone of 2000 Test runs.

Earlier, Kohli won his seventh toss in a row and decided to bat first. Murali Vijay went out early. Comeback man Gautam Gambhir played some aggressive cricket to reach 29 with four fours and two sixes before being trapped leg before to Boult. Cheteshwar Pujara looke in good nick before gettin bowled by a Mitchell Santner. Rahane struggled early into his innings but kept his nerve to come out unscathed. Almost 19,000 attended the first ever day of Test cricket in Indore.
