‘Andaz Apna Apna’ rights not sold to Phantom Films

The fans are in for a treat, as the sequel of Andaz Apna Apna is soon going to the floor. Andaz Apna Apna, starring Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Karisma Kapoor and Raveena Tandon, is still regarded as one of the best comic films ever made.

According to Priti Sinha, director of Reel Life Entertainment, the movie will not be a remake of the original film, which was directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. She added that the rights of the movie will remain with Vinay Pictures, and are not sold to Phantom Films, as rumored earlier.

“It is to be noted that the rights of the film remain with Vinay Pictures and have not been sold to Phantom Films,” Priti said. “Vinay Sinha has not sold the rights to Phantom Films or anybody else as reported by a section of media. Also, the film is not a remake of the original Andaz Apna Apna.”

It’s been more than 22 years since the release of Andaz Apna Apna, in which Amir played the role Amar, while Salman portrayed Prem. Both stars have been repeatedly asked about the sequel of the movie, and they have insisted on working together on the movie.

“I would love to do Andaz Apna Apna 2 with Salman,” Aamir said. “I hope to work with him again but only if the right script and film comes up. I’m sure both of us would love to do it.”

When told that Aamir is keen on working with him in Andaz Apna Apna 2, Salman told reporters that he, too, is dying to work with ‘Dangal’ star, whenever the movie hit the floor.
