TV Couples who were engaged but never got married!

Nothing makes the fans happier than seeing their favorite on screen couples fall in love with each other off screen as well. It is a matter of even bigger celebration when they decide to make their relationship official and get engaged to each other. While there are many TV stars who fell for their co stars and eventually got married, there are also some who were crazy in love and got engaged with each other but eventually walked their separate ways and called off the marriage.

Here is a list of TV stars who were engaged but never tied the knot!

Shilpa Shinde and Romit Raj –

The two TV actors were much in love and were engaged to be married in 2009. With even the venue of the marriage fixed, the wedding was called off at the last moment and that shocked everyone! According to Shilpa she was willing to give everything for the marriage but it wasn’t ever enough for Romit.

Gauhar Khan and Sajid Khan –

This was a year before Gauhar Khan really made her debut and was into modeling. Sajid too wasn’t the mega movie director he is today but was a popular TV show host. The duo were engaged to get married in 2003, but they called it off for reasons undisclosed. Sajid Khan later dated actress Jacqueline Fernandez while Gauhar dated Hanif Halal and Kushal Tandon.

Barkha Bisht and Karan Singh Grover –

Karan Singh Grover got more limelight for his marriages than for his acting career. Well Barkha Bisht is where his list of break ups started. The two actors worked together in MTV’s Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi in 2004, started dating and even got engaged! But they ultimately called it off in 2006. Barkha Bisht is now happily married to Indraneil Sengupta and has a cute daughter while Karan is married to Bipasha Basu.

Upen Patel and Karishma Tanna –

The couple that hit off in Bigg Boss got engaged in 2014 on the TV show Nach Baliye when Upen proposed to her. Though they were in no hurry to get married, they ultimately called off their relationship after 2 years and even declared their break up on social media.

Ratan Rajput and Abhinav Sharma –

She had an entire swayamvar on national TV and picked her groom from a lot of contestants wooing her. She got engaged to Abhinav Sharma who was the winner of the show but later called it off due to a lot of compatibility issues between them.

Rakhi Sawant and Elesh Parujanwala –

She inaugurated the swayamvars on TV and picked up NRI contestant Elaesh Parujanwala to get married to. They never ended up getting married but were definitely engaged for the entire nation to watch. Rakhi called off the engagement and 7 years later in 2016 really explained the reason for it. She admitted that she took up the show for money because she needed to buy a flat for herself!!
